Technology advances decrease health care errors

New technologies such as the Smart Pump IV system are reducing health care errors at University Medical Center in conjunction with courses taught about reducing human error.
Greg Bruce, vice president of Corporate Services at UMC, said implementing the IV systems and other technology is reducing health care errors. The IV system uses computer-controlled dosage settings to confirm the patient receives the right amount of medicine.
